After her first win 9 years ago, Pauline crossed the finish line of the Megavalanche 2016 in the first spot!
And what about a story: she didn’t even plan to race! On Thursday Jérôme and Pauline were near Alpes d’Huez, and decided to go riding with friends, Rémy Absalon and Damien Oton who practice the Megalanche track.
This year the glacier was incredible long and snowy and it was a pleasure to ride on it! Pauline rode all the course track and really likes the shape of the course, so she decided to register at 5 pm!
On friday the qualifications went well, she ends up 3rd behind Cécile Ravanel and Bex Baraona and kept some energy for the race day!
6 a.m. saturday the 11th: the clock didn’t wake Pauline up so she was a little late at the breakfast! She ran to the lift with barres on her pocket and tee on her bottle! Nevertheless it didn’t stop her!
With a start at 9:15 am just in time to have the perfect conditions on the glacier, she started not in a bad position and after 3 crashes she ended 4th at the bottom of the snow!
The battle is about to go: on the rocky sections she passed Bex, then Cécile who got a puncture, and last the young riders Estelle Charles. She realized that she is at the first position and kept going cleverly to find a balance between make a gap and don’t have any mechanical!
She manages to get to the bottom and won the 2016 edition!
Such a great reward as she focused mire this year on the team management of Jérôme!!
